Quartz: the most abundant mineral on the earth’s surface. It’s beautiful, tough and naturally occurs in a wide range of colors and varieties. The reflective character and beauty of quartz is apparent in engineered quartz. A variety of edge treatments are available. From simple to dramatic, the edge treatment adds character and dimension to the final product.
All engineered quartz countertops are made by the same process. Mined quartz crystals are bonded with resins and pigments, and poured into molds where it is then compressed, shaken and dried. The resulting product is non-porous and impervious to liquids and bacteria. Sealing of engineered quartz countertops is not necessary. Quartz countertops are made with 93% quartz by weight, this high percentage of quartz ensures the hardness and scratch resistance of natural quartz is maximized in the countertop. The controlled fabrication process means uniformity of product from slab to slab. Seams in quartz countertops are almost invisible.
